Nice design, concerned about the gold plating

I like the pendant style and design very much, my only issue is that the gold plating looks very brassy and a bit cheap which I would not have expected for the cost. I'm also concerned that this will get worse over time. Otherwise everything else is good; nice chain, good weight and style for the pendant.
